Dana White confirms UFC not interested in “retired” Fedor Emelianenko

Last week iconic Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko announced he was walking away from MMA after a twelve-year run in the ring. However, “The Last Emperor” also left the possibility of a comeback up in the air and simply pointed to time with his family as the driving force behind him hanging up his gloves, not a lack of desire or the ability to still compete at a high level.

Many felt Emelianenko’s actions might be a ploy to get him some time off while hopefully negotiating with the UFC as a means of closing out his career without an asterisk on it as someone who never set foot inside the Octagon. If that’s the case, unfortunately for Emelianenko’s camp, it appears they’re wasting their time because Dana White still isn’t interested in his services.

Emelianenko Leaving Future Up to “God’s Will”

White confirmed his organization will not pursue the 35-year old legend despite rumors to the contrary in a statement to The Underground.

Assuming he remains retired, Emelianenko will go down in history with a 34-4 record including wins over some of the sport’s top talent including Mirko Filipovic, Mark Coleman, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
