The UFC has announced Anthony Perosh will take on Joey Beltran at UFC on FX 6. The show is set to take place on December 15 in Queensland, Australia and features Rousimar Palhares-Hector Lombard in the main event.
Beltran (14-8) will be out to get back into the win column after losing a unanimous decision to James Te Huna in July. “The Mexicutioner” was cut after suffering a knockout loss Lavar Johnson as a heavyweight, but the fan-favorite was brought back after slimming down to light heavyweight and picking up a win outside of the organization. Beltran could be fighting for his job at the event as well, dropping five of his last six contests despite employing an entertaining style inside the ring.
When he steps into the Octagon Perosh (13-7) will be looking to rebound from his UFC 149 loss to Ryan Jimmo. Like Beltran, the Aussie has had several fights at heavyweight but won’t be going back up for this bout. He has finished all of the opponents he’s beaten including nine by way of submission, a stark contrast to the strike-centric Beltran.
Other fights scheduled for UFC on FX 6 include a bout between TUF: Australia vs. UK coaches George Sotiropoulos-Ross Pearson as well as the final from the reality show’s ongoing run.
