Anderson Silva willing to fight Georges St-Pierre no matter how he fares against Carlos Condit

UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva has been crystal clear about his interest in taking on welterweight king Georges St-Pierre at some point down the road. Both men are considered among the best pound-for-pound fighters in MMA and will receive consideration as the sport’s greatest competitor when they eventually hang up their gloves.

In fact, Silva’s hope for a showdown with St-Pierre is so strong he’s even willing to fight him if GSP stumbles against Carlos Condit this November and tarnishes his reputation as a result.

“Regardless of who wins, even if St-Pierre loses, a fight with me can happen. A fight like this is above anything else. St-Pierre is one of the greatest of the UFC. Right now, a fight with Condit is meaningless,” said Silva in an interview with SporTV (translation by Bloody Elbow).

GSP Says He’s Fully Cleared to Fight

St-Pierre has been sidelined since April 2011 with knee problems including a completely torn ACL he only recently recovered from. However, regardless of any ring-rust he may show, he holds an overall record of 22-2 with wins in his last nine fights and past success against the likes of Josh Koscheck, BJ Penn, Jon Fitch, Matt Serra, and Matt Hughes.
