UFC on Fox 7 reportedly heads to San Jose's HP Pavilion on April 20

The UFC has already set dates for each of their four Fox events in 2013, but only the January 26 event at Chicago's United Center had a location and venue. Until today.

According to a report from MMAJunkie.com, the UFC will head back to the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. for their second Fox card of 2013. UFC on Fox 7 will take place on April 20, a week before UFC 159 in New Jersey, which will be headlined by the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen.

The UFC last hit the HP Pavilion last July, bringing a mid-week event to the venue for UFC on Fuel 4, which was headlined by Chris Weidman's two round demolition of Mark Munoz.

Penick's Analysis: This card should bring in a lot more at the gate than the Fuel event last year for a number of reasons. For starters, it's a Saturday night instead of a Wednesday like the last card, and the event will have a higher profile as well. I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Daniel Cormier make his UFC debut on this card, depending on if he comes out of his bout next weekend with Dion Staring unscathed. We could see some other Strikeforce fighters here as well, being as the HP Pavilion was the longtime home of Strikeforce. For now, we're a little far out from the event to get any official fight bookings, but by the end of the month we'll probably get a little more information on the card.
