On Friday, Eddie Alvarez attempted to gain an injunction against Bellator which would have allowed him to fight at UFC 159 this April. New Jersey Judge Jose Linares heard from both sides to determine whether or not to grant the injunction, and ultimately ruled that Alvarez's side hadn't reached their burden to grant the injunction, leaving the legal process to continue.
During the proceedings, the attorney present for Bellator made a couple of claims that didn't sit well with Alvarez, including representing to the court that Bellator had a pay-per-view fight with Michael Chandler ready and waiting for Alvarez. After the injunction didn't go his way, Alvarez decided to vent a little about Friday's proceedings, while respecting the judge's ultimate decision. Here's Alvarez in his own words:
Thanx 4 the support ,still feel very Optimistic about the Trial, unlike the injuction, Bellator will have 2 back up All the bullshit Lies.

Penick's Analysis: Alvarez might well be right that a trial may go much differently, and if Bellator has to try to sell their arguments about pay-per-view and Spike TV being equal to Fox in front of a jury, that may not go too well. I'm glad Alvarez is trying to stay positive through a trying experience, and one can only hope this case can be brought before a jury and sorted out much sooner than later.
