"I don't think I have been in a fight where I have been the favorite. For me this is just what I'm used to. It's my normal role. I'm going to come here and I'm going to show up for a fight. There's never been a fight I haven't been prepared for and I haven't showed up for, and it's going to be no different come Feb. 2… I was always told growing up the loud mouth, the big mouth, is not the guy you have to worry about, you have to worry about the quiet guy. I guess that stuck with me. I will say this: don't mistake my kindness for weakness, because I definitely bring it every fight, and it's going to be no different on Feb. 2."
-Frankie Edgar talks to MMAWeekly.com about why he shouldn't be counted out against Jose Aldo at UFC 156.
Penick's Analysis: Despite some fantastic performances in the UFC, including several great title fights, Edgar's never gotten the respect he rightfully deserves. Not from all at least. He's got speed, he's got striking skills, he's a great wrestler, and he's a very active fighter. He is undeniably a challenge for Jose Aldo, and he'll be one of the toughest fights the Featherweight Champ has had under the Zuffa banner. Edgar is an unassuming figure in the sport, but he's one of its great talents, and were it not for some poor judging in August he may have remained Lightweight Champion. If he can do at 145 what he accomplished at 155, we'll have a new Featherweight Champion come Sunday morning.
