It was fireworks from the opening bell when Zoila “Warrior Princess” Gurgel squared off against Jessica “Evil” Eye in a featured flyweight bout at Bellator 83.
Gurgel, the Bellator women’s champion, entered the bout on a seven fight winning streak. However, she would find herself in trouble early as she was dropped by Eye within the opening seconds of the bout. Things went downhill from there as Gurgel made it back to her feet but was caught in a standing arm triangle choke. Gurgel never tapped as Eye earned the victory with a technical submission win in just 58 seconds.
