The Bellator Fighting Championships continues to bolster their welterweight roster with the announcement that they have signed Brazilian Marcus “Lelo” Aurelio.
Aurelio (6-1) will being a six fight winning streak into his Bellator debut which expected later this summer. Aurelio, a Capoeira specialist, brings a dynamic offense attack into the cage. All of his six fights have come by stoppage with five knockouts and one submission. Four of those finishes have come within a minute including the switch-kick knockout shown below from Battlefield Fight League 10 in August 2011.
Aurelio joins former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Paul “Semtex” Daley as new blood in the Bellator welterweight division. Veterans Karl Amoussou and Bryan Baker are set to square off in the season six welterweight final at Bellator 72 on July 20th. The winner will earn a title shot against current champion Ben “Funky” Askren.
