The NBC Sports Network-televised portion of World Series of Fighting's debut event is now complete.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with sources close to the promotion that a light-heavyweight contest between Anthony Johnson (13-4) and D.J. Linderman (14-3) is the sixth and final contest planned for the broadcast.
The event takes place Nov. 3 at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
Also slated for the main card are former WEC bantamweight champion and recent UFC fighter Miguel Torres (40-5) vs. Shooto Brazil and XFC veteran Marlon Moraes (8-4-1).
The contests join previously announced contests of Andrei Arlovski vs. Devin Cole, Josh Burkman vs. Gerald Harris, Brian Cobb vs. Ronys Torres, and Gregor Gracie vs. Tyson Steele on the World Series of Fighting 1 main card.
An 11-time UFC veteran, Johnson fights for the third time as a light heavyweight. The 6-foot-2 "Rumble" competed mostly as a welterweight during his time in the octagon but has since elected to compete at 205 pounds, where he's racked up a pair of knockout wins over Jake Rosholt and Esteves Jones in regional shows. He's 5-1 in his past six contests.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Linderman has been competing as a heavyweight in recent outings but will drop back down to 205 pounds for this contest. Currently 5-1 in his past six contests, Linderman has competed professionally since 2008 and has never lost a bout via stoppage. He currently stands as Cage Warriors Fighting Championship's heavyweight champion.
With the addition, the World Series of Fighting 1 card now includes:
