The official lineup for UFC 154 is starting to take shape for the Octagon’s return to Montreal after the organization added a third welterweight bout to the card. According to an official announcement on UFC Tonight, Stephen Thompson and Besam Yousef have agreed to fight at the November 17 event.
Thompson (6-1) exploded on the UFC scene with a head kick knockout over Dan Stittgen at UFC 143. Nicknamed “Wonderboy”, the undefeated kickboxing champion also stepped up to face Matt Brown on short notice and turned in an extremely entertaining effort despite ultimately ending up on the wrong side of a decision against his vastly more experienced adversary.
Meanwhile, the Swedish-born Yousef (6-1) was undefeated coming into the UFC when he faced Simeon Thoresen earlier this year but lost by way of submission. After having taken out five of his first six opponents by stoppage in his home country, UFC 154 marks the first time Yousef will be fighting off of Swedish soil.
The evening’s main event will feature the return of of UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre (22-2) after being out for more than a year due to injury-related issues. GSP is set to take on Carlos Condit, the division’s interim title-holder, in hopes of unifying the belts.
