UFC officials announced today that a bantamweight bout between Chico Camus (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and undefeated promotional newcomer Dustin Kimura (9-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been added to next months UFC 156 card.
Camus recently scored a unanimous-decision victory over Dustin Pague at UFC 150 in his promotional debut. The victory marked Chicos fourth straight and the Roufusport trained fighter will be looking to make it 5 in a row when he faces Kimura in February.
Kimura is a Hawaiian-based submission specialist who turned pro just three and a half years ago. After competing for a handful of Hawaiian promotions, Kimura headed to the Philippines in November to compete at PXC 34, where he defeated Guy Delumeau via third-round knockout. That win, combined with his undefeated record, resulted in a phone call from UFC executives.
UFC 156 takes place February 2nd live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a featherweight title fight between current champ Joe Aldo and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
