How much longer will cuss words be around?

Or how much longer will they considered to be 'taboo' or foul play to say in public?
Obviously the words themselves will always be around, but i've never really understood the point of them being so off limits. I would have to think that i am not alone in saying this, but i have noticed over the past few years they seem to generally be more commonly said in work and other social environments much more casually than before. Instead of a time a bit longer ago i remember people who cussed frequently were thought to be 'potty mouths' or to be people of 'low-class' or limited vocabulary and it was rather a bit looked down upon if you will.

Are we finally realizing as a whole, that in actual reality all they are is just words and nothing more?
Discuss.
