Despite past loss, Cub Swanson believes he'd beat Jose Aldo "10 out of 10 times" moving forward

"I know that I could win that fight 10 out of 10 times if we did it again. It's not even an issue to me anymore. I'd actually like my brother -- would love for my brother -- to fight him, who's an up-and-comer, which I feel is more of a fair fight. I don't really feel like me vs. Aldo would be a fair fight at all... I definitely feel like I don't get credit, but I've always taken that as kind of my fault. I've been inconsistent. It's the way this game is. There's so many ways to lose and to win. When you're drastically trying to make improvements in your game, sometimes you get lost in what made you great. Finding a balance in your game is a delicate thing. I feel like those wins and losses were really my growing period. I feel like right now is the time where everything's coming together and everything's just flowing for me. I feel unstoppable right now."

-Cub Swanson talks to Sherdog.com about his place in the UFC's featherweight division, and how he feels a rematch with Jose Aldo would go today.

Penick's Analysis: I think it's fair to say we just don't know how a rematch between Swanson and Aldo would play out at this stage. The first fight wasn't a fluke, but it was such an explosive opening move from Aldo that there's no way to determine how the fight may have otherwise played out had he not landed that opening double knee. That's not to say Swanson would win ten out of ten times, or even one out of ten times. We just don't know until the rematch happens how they might match up. Swanson's three straight stoppage wins deserve respect, and he's quickly becoming a legitimate challenger in the division, but he's going to have to prove himself better than Aldo in the cage, because right now the only history between them is Aldo winning in eight seconds.
