Dana White told reporters after a recent event that the organization would be heading back to Boston, Mass. "sooner than people think." That suggested a potential summer return, and that's exactly what's happening.
White revealed on Twitter on Friday that the UFC will head back to Boston on August 17 for their debut event on Fox Sports 1.
We are FINALLY going back to Boston at the TD Garden on Aug 17th for the launch of FOX Sports 1!! We are bringing a SICK card :)

The UFC hasn't been to Boston since August of 2010, where Frankie Edgar pulled off a decisive win over B.J. Penn in a rematch of his controversial win from April of that year. The long delay for the UFC's return is somewhat surprising, given the city's status as a major sports market and White's former ties there as well, but the wait is now over.
The event will come on the launch day of Fox Sports 1, the new network from Fox that will see the former SPEED channel rebranded into an all sports network. The UFC's event that night will be the first of six before the end of 2013, with 12 more coming in 2014.
