"It's a real friendship. It goes back 11 years almost now, but it's always been a competitive friendship… It's one of those things where I know his family, he knows my family. But this is our job, and my friends – the Team Alpha Male guys – we beat each other up every day. This is an opportunity to make some cash, put on a show and go down in history. This is something we can look back on and have bragging rights… It's going to be a great fight. I feel like having friends in there competing kind of lets some of the tension off. I feel like I can really let loose in there, and I think he probably feels the same way."

-Urijah Faber talks to USA Today about his "competitive friendship" with his Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale opponent, Scott Jorgensen.

Penick's Analysis: This is a really interesting fight because of the friendship angle. It's not the teacher-student relationship that was harmed in the Eduardo Dantas-Marcos Galvao fight in Bellator, it's one of those relationships that will probably thrive on this type of competition. And whichever fighter wins, the other's going to want to get a rematch to get that loss back. But given the circumstances here - stepping up on short notice to help the UFC out when they needed a main event fight - I wouldn't be surprised to see Faber and Jorgensen partying together after the fight is done and over with.
