"I did get a chance to talk with Ed. Our chances of getting things resolved dramatically increased. We were talking and I hope it results in us getting this behind us. I've got to give a little and he's got to give a little. Hopefully we can find that middle ground."

-Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney talks to Rebellion Media about running into embittered lightweight Eddie Alvarez on Thursday at Bellator 95.

Penick's Analysis: The contract situation with Alvarez and Bellator still comes down to whether they can come to a settlement that will avoid a trial. Alvarez may have a legitimate chance at having a court find in his favor regarding the issue of whether they matched the UFC's offer, but it could keep him out of action for a significant amount of time. From the UFC's standpoint, as long as Bellator's paying Alvarez what they feel they're offering, they're alright with it because there's contractually nothing they can do, but UFC President Dana White - along with most observers - haven't seen Bellator's offer as equal. If Alvarez can get enough of what he wants from Bellator, though, that's where his next fight will be.
