Pat Barry vs. Shawn Jordan Agreed for UFC Bout Sometime in May

A heavyweight showdown between Pat Barry and Shawn Jordan has been agreed to for sometime in May, MMAWeekly.com sources indicated on Tuesday. They just haven’t quite nailed down which date yet.

The promotion currently has two events slated for May. UFC on FX 8: Belfort vs. Rockhold is scheduled for May 18 in Brazil, while UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Silva II is set for just one week later in Las Vegas.

Barry (8-4) enters the bout following a second-round knockout victory over former Strikeforce fighter Shane Del Rosario at the TUF 16 Finale in December.

Barry has had a sporadic UFC tenure, bouncing back and forth between wins and losses. A win over Jordan would mark the first time in his four-plus years and 10 bouts in the Octagon that he put together back-to-back victories.

Jordan (14-4), like Del Rosario, was a Strikeforce import, when the promotion shuttered its heavyweight division. He is currently 2-1 in the Octagon, coming off of a TKO stoppage of Mike Russow at UFC on Fox 6 earlier this year in Chicago.
