ROUNDTABLE: Would there be any options for GSP other than Johny Hendricks if they both win at UFC 158?

Would there realistically be any other options for Georges St-Pierre (or Nick Diaz) next than Johny Hendricks if he defeats Carlos Condit?

RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

If GSP wins and if Hendricks wins, then the UFC is likely to make GSP vs. Hendricks. Of course, we've said this before.

If GSP wins and Condit wins, the division will be in chaos. Condit's unlikely to get a title shot, Hendricks will be out of contention, and the winner of Marquardt vs. Ellenberger won't be close enough. So, assuming Anderson Silva beats Chris Weidman in July, and assuming the UFC doesn't go with Vitor Belfort or Luke Rockhold vs. Silva, I wouldn't be surprised to see GSP vs. Silva finally happen since both divisions will be in flux. Maybe in NYC in November 2013?

If Diaz wins... OK, no point in continuing, but let's say GSP gets ebola in the middle of the fight and dies or something. So, if Diaz wins, I don't care who wins the Hendricks fight, GSP deserves and must get an immediate rematch. Diaz vs. GSP 2, with Diaz as champ, will do beau-coups business both at the gate on on pay per view. Plus, if Frankie Edgar had grounds for a rematch, don't you sorta kinda somewhat GSP, who has held gold since December 2007, deserves a rematch? Yeah, me too.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

The only way that Hendricks doesn't get a title shot if he beats Condit is if Anderson Silva wants to do a superfight. The only reason that fight wouldn't be bashed is that it's Silva. Hendricks deserves a shot now, and that would be even more the case if he beats Condit.

TONY BECERRA, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I don't believe so, but then again my name is not Dana White. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Johnny Hendricks should be fighting for the belt now, and he definitely deserves the next shot against GSP (or Diaz). He has beaten the who's who in the welterweight division and with a victory against Carlos Condit, I don't believe the UFC or Joe Silva for that matter, will have a choice but to grant him his title shot.

ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

No. Hendricks has run through top fighters easily. I am not under the illusion that Hendricks will beat GSP, but if he wins against Condit he will be given the next shot at the title. I think a better question today might be can Hendricks beat Condit?

BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

Johny Hendricks should be fighting GSP right now while Diaz and Condit have a rematch. Hendricks has iced everyone the UFC has put infront of him, and as long as Carlos doesn't run away for three rounds he will again. Give Hendricks his title shot, there's no one else worthy.
